Public Involvement Materials

The public involvement process for the SEIS for the Renewal of Authorization to Use Pinecastle Range, Ocala National Forest, Florida began with the publication of the Notice of Intent (NOI) in the Federal Register on June 12, 2008. The public was able to submit comments during the comment period from June 13, 2008 until July 14, 2008 via email, phone, mail, or online. The Notice of Public Hearing (NOPH) and the Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Draft SEIS was published in the Federal Register on Sept 4, 2009. The comment period was held from September 4, 2009 through October 19, 2009. The Public was able to submit comments via email, phone, mail, online, or in person at the public hearings, which were held on September 22, 23, and 24 in Umatilla, Eustis, and Ocala. Coinciding with the various comment periods, announcements were published in the following local newspapers: Ocala Star-Banner, Orlando Sentinel, Leesburg Daily Commercial, Deland-Deltona Beacon, Gainesville Sun, North Lake Outpost, Villages Daily Sun, Sanford Herald, Orlando Weekly, Palatka Daily News, and the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
